Heading down to the camp to Redfish in a couple weeks and just wondering if anyone has had success with using a Thermacell to keep the bugs away. I've seen 'em at their worst in the winter, and shudder at the thought of how bad they may be this time of year.

As long as the wind isn't bad.

Use mine all the time and love it....X2 on the wind being a factor if it is still or just a slight breeze it's alright.

when the wind isn't blowing, it is worth its wieght in gold.

used them hunting one time one in the front of the boat and another in the back. could literally hear and see tons of mosquitos around the boat and never got bit once kept the gnats away too. people started coming back to the boat from the land blind /c they were getting there arses tore up. i keep one in the boat and one in tackle box just in case im not in my bot fishing.

Make sure you can get it to light before you go out... electric ingnition + moisture =

i havent been having one long, but i use one every night on my back patio and it works real fast and is one hell of a thing to have when you need it.

Work great for early season bow hunting in the bottoms.


The damn skeeters up here can stand flat footed and screw a turkey their that big.

They really do work. I use mind on the front porch at the camp and with in mins. theres a handful of mosq. on the ground and not one bite on me. they are well worth the money.
