I been having the boat for a while and jus recently put the 36hp prodrive on da back. The boat handles the motor way better than expected even with the semi vee. i ran the boat last weekend with 12 gal. of gas 4 ppl 2 ice chest and 2 big marine batteries and still plained off no problem. i was told the motor was gonna be too much for the boat.... i didnt think there was such a thing as too big of a mud motor?? what do yall think?? :?:

You would have to maybe post some pics of your boat, particularly the transom. I think that is where those who told you the motor would be too much for the boat are saying. Over time, the motor may be too hard/heavy on the transom. Al ittle support or bracing on the transom might help out, but that is without seeing the transom. Show us a pic. What gauge metal is the boat made of?

the hull is pretty lite but i jus redid my transom with two sheets of .75 treated plywood with .125 alluminum on both sides. i also added a 1x1 aluminum square tubing for reinforcment. the boat had a yamaha 70hp on there before...

You probably have the same boat as I do, I want to put either a 36pd FPR or a 35GTR on it. The Scavenger's gonna have to do for awhile, but I would love to see some pics/vids of your boat running. I'm supposed to have mine back this week, I'll post some vid up of it, I've done a shitload of work to this thing. We'll compare and rag each others hulls,

26 sounds like decent speeds to me considering the boat you are running.
