Yesterday afternoon I went to the lake with my buddies to go run the boats and get some awesome pictures of the boats and the ducks. Just a typical day on the lake, my buddy just got a 23hp dixie for my 1542 riveted jon. I was alone in my boat, my good friend was alone in his boat and our other friend was loaded down with other people.
Anyways we ran this creek that was about 5-6ft wide and 1-2ft deep, this creek connects two lakes together, we were coming from lake 1. Lake 2 dryed up last year and all the weeds and lily pads are very tall especially the random shrubery in this creek which is also very windy and many blind corners. So we ended up leaving lake I knew there was an S curve ahead so i slowed down to almost 13-15mph little did i know there was a 14ft x 8ft airboat doing 35mph coming around the corner.
Next thing I know is I am looking at the bow of this airboat and were both trying to somehow avoid crashing, he went left and i tried going right but i ended up sliding out and we went head on! He smashed the front of the boat and the only thing i could do was lay down in my boat as i watched the bottom of his airboat slide over mine. I do not remember any noises or anything except inspecting the bottom of is hull! I am still in shock and shaking as i type this. If it wasnt for me laying down. i wouldnt be telling you this story right now.
After getting ran over by the airboat, i walked away with one little scratch on my elbow, busted toe, bruised thumb, and a burn on my back from his fiberglass hull sliding on my back! I am one lucky SOB and someone was looking down on me or it just wasnt my time.

I will say once you look at these pitures of the damage that both the boat(landau) and motor(23hp dixie mud motor) are both well built after the force of he crash!












At least we got a few good ones!

yes sir i was! my buddy who was behind me watched the whole thing and he is able to stand on his boat and i have to sit on mine until i cut the back bench out (not that i have to worry about that now) lol but he saw the airboat on the first corner and then noticed he was haulin azz, he said the airboat ran my boat over and somehow got airborne just missing my motor but ripping off the air filter and crushed my fuel pump. Both my buddy and the two people on the airboat thought i was dead.

i sure hope he learned his lesson. I just cant believe im alive after that and arent missing any limbs or eye balls, since my headlights shattered and my costas shattered and last i remember i was wearing them

Yeah I was out there too, from the other end of the creek tho...Damn B, Bird pics, lake names, and ramp pics all in one post!

I thought that place looked and sounded familiar. Bunch of coots there also, only seen a handful this far south. I'll be up that way for the UF vs. Mizzou game 8-)
