How many have seen the most recent video of the Sport V? That thing will toogle from full throttle forward to full throttle reverse then back to forward faster than any outboard I've ever seen. No grinding, no clunking in gear, just smooth quite and fast. Pretty impressive! If these motors hold up to the normal abuse and perform as well as the other brands and the belt driven Mud Buddys, they will definitely be the most innovative motor on the market. I'll be in the market for a surface drive around April of next year and will be watching them very close over the next 6 months. |

A video of one prototype is one thing, but all the production models holding up to the abuse they will be put through is another. Unfortunately, no one can tell us how they hold up yet because those that were promised them in early August are still waiting. I'm not bashing the motor at all, it could be great. But the way mud buddy has gone about the whole situation of releasing the motors has screwed a lot of people. |

I'll agree they should have never put delivery dates out that far in advance especially right before hunting season and probably shouldn't have taken deposits on the motors. I’m sure they realize that now. If they wanted to show case the CAD drawings and Demo the Sport V as they did that’s fine. Anyone that’s been in any kind of mechanical industry knows you have obstacles when designing and assembling something new. You’ll almost always have set-backs, re-designs and re-work to get things correct. That's what it looks like they’re doing too me. Not to mention the brain behind these engines has been through some Hardship in his personal life in the middle of all this. I would be more concerned if they were throwing these motors together just to meet a date. None of that changes the fact that they’re building the most Innovative Mud Motor known to Man. As I said earlier. If they hold up to the normal abuse and perform as well as the other Brands it will be a no brainer when it comes time to purchase a MM. If they don't there's always Go-Devil. ![]() |

All I hear about mud buddy is how shitty the customer service is, hell last year I was wanting to take a test drive and I couldn't even get them to answer the phone let alone call me back. Why someone would do business with them and give a down payment on a imaginary motor blows my mind! |

The brains behind that motor is Mercury, not GF. They've built just about ever damn thing on that unit besides the B&S engine. |

The mud buddy motors I've owned have been solid, but I won't disagree there's better out there. As for the sport v, it looks to be an awesome motor in my opinion. You don't have to be half a dumbass to know putting money on a motor that doesn't exist is stupid. But mudbuddy is sorry for taking their money, and not producing what they promised. |

Casey all Gator-Tails stuff is done in house right there at the facility. All the parts are CNC machined which all the machines are in house. I know that for a fact |

casey you keep saying the most innovative motor on the market, whats so innovative about it? on a console that you can put it in and out of gear with the shifter? i just dont see anything on that motor that is gonna change anything. you still have to actuate the lever to put it in and out of gear, its pretty easy to grab my reverse lever and still pretty easy to flip a toggle switch. unless its driving for me it no different than any other motor. i cant wait to see somebody actually throw that sucker in gear back and forth at 4k rpms. |

Just a FYI regarding ProDrive Shafts and Misc Machined parts.... ProDrive was created in a Machine Shop which their family owned. The machine shop is still doing a good bit of the work. |

I havent even had any Briggs issues. This motor has pretty much been trouble free. Now my last one I had 275 hours on, and I think just about anything that could have gone wrong, did. But the folks at Pro-Drive always took care of me. I never had to pay for anything, even when it was out of warranty. I think I had a lemon, lol. |
