Thinking about getting a decent cooler for Christmas was think what yall think, K2 is cheaper but not too sure on quality such as the hinges clamps might get bent and not work. Seeing what you guys think?

I have a K2 90qt and love it. The price sold me on it and my buddies have yetis and the K2 does just as good as there's.

When your talking about the hinge clamps get bent, are you talking about the latches on the front?

Never had a Yeti, but my 30qt holds ice for days. Put 20 lbs in on Thursday & still had ice on Tuesday.

^^^^X2. Yeti seems like it is a higher quality cooler which in turn affects the price

I've got both a small k2 and a big one. The bigger coolers are much better quality than the cube series. The cube 30 really needs one big handle instead on two small ones. They do hold ice well as long as you stay out of them

I've had 3 Yeti's and a K2. Sold the K2 to a buddy because I didn't like the latches. I'm partial to Yeti but have the coolers in the sizes I need already so haven't canvased the market again. The key to any cooler is how does it seal. The #1 cause of ice melting is air hitting the ice. many of the new coolers have a seal and thus prevent any air from going in. Heck, some coolers act like freezers and create a suction. I know the Yeti does this for me at times. I'm sure the others do too. This is what you want out of a cooler.

As far as holding ice an Igloo 7 Day will hold ice just as long as these expensive brands. Problem is that Igloo can't hold 2 people standing on the lid.

my yeti also sometimes gets a suction and i can hardly get the s.o.b open. i have to unscrew the drain plug a little to open the lid. yeti cs is awesome. my yeti had a lump in the outer shell, i called them up and sent them a few pictures via email. they sent me a shipping number and all i had to do was take it to fed ex. got my new one back like a week later. the newer style cooler at that. i vote yeti.

I've only had Yeti's, so I can't speak to the others, but I doubt if I ever will own anything else. I just bought a Yeti 65 two weeks ago. It's my first one of the "new body styles," and MANNNNN, I'm sold all over again! I put ice in it a couple hours ago, and I just walked out to the boat to put my beer in there... That thing is sealed up so tight, I carried the beer back in cause I didn't feel like climbing up in the boat to bow up on it. I guess when that warm air in there cooled down, it created a negative pressure that is now holding it closed extremely tightly. That right there tells me that it's quality built. I can also say that two bags of ice lasted me the first two weekends of duck season, even though I was opening it for each beer while I was hunting... The K2's look great, and I'm sure they're probably just as good. I just have no reason to try something new given my experiences with Yeti.

You've heard the expression, "A watched pot never boils." Well, I'm pretty sure, "Ice in a Yeti doesn't melt; it only melts when you open it up to see if it's melting..."

Good luck with your purchase. The only thing that hurts is the purchase price. After that, you'll love it til the day it gets stolen... :o

I have 2 yeti 20's and they just don't hold ice that much better than a igloo. My yeti 50 quart does pretty good though.
