Post Opinions wanted on putting a 27 PD on a 14 ft flat
I have a sturdy 14' flat boat with a 16 hp Go-Devil. The boat is pretty heavy for a 14 (it has plates welded into the floor and front deck. I want to put a 27 PD on it. Any opinions on whether or not a 27 is too heavy or too much for this boat?

Add weight like two more batteries at the transom to simulate a 260 to 280 lb PD...

That should tell you...

Maybe you could post some pics of the transom and it's bracing. I would make sure it's sturdy enough to handle the added weight and increase in hp. You will be going faster than before, so hitting stumps and such will put more strain on the transom.
