Some of you are already aware and some aren't that we have lost a great MMT member. Todd Miller, (aka MMT member Beachbummer66), lost his battle with cancer and has gone on to join the Good Lord. Todd shared his journey with all of us here on MMT: (see his thread ) While most of us didn't know Todd personally, we got to know him through his postings here. The courage he showed in his postings about his illness was an inspiration to us all. He talked about his struggles and about the good times he had hunting and fishing and that mudmotor he owned brought him closer to his family through the many outings it provided. I spoke with Todd on the phone and despite his illness, he was upbeat and cheerful. I knew he was a good guy just by talking to him because you get a good sense of people when you talk to them and Todd was an alright guy. In the end, it was meant to be and Todd has gone on, . . on to a place where we could only wish to be, a place where there's no such thing as cancer, or pain, or suffering. He's home. So Todd my man, thanks for being here with all of us on our little mudmotor website. Your story and your being a member here will stick with us forever. You will live on here at MMT as will your postings that will never be erased, nor will the great memories of you being here. RIP Todd, may the Good Lord Bless you and the family you leave behind. Services Information: MEMORIAL (SVC of Clebration of the Life of Todd Miller) "Beachbummer" will be 2pm this Saturday FEB 2d 25 minutes drive north of Wilmington, NC on N.C. HWY 421 at the "Shiloh Baptist Church" I wanted to add that the silent engines title is taken from some of the r/c boat racing forums my dad was a member on. Whenever someone passed they would title it silent engines, as a tribute to their lost member. I thought it would be good to start that tradition here on MMT. |

I've been in touch with Todd's wife and she'll be sending me some photos of him. I'll post up the details of his services as soon as I hear from his family. Todd's wife has the link to this thread as well as the original one Todd posted and I'm sure it will make her smile to see all the nice tributes to him. |

I've certainly had people that I knew personally go through similar fights, but I've never felt more in touch, up to date or involved with someone's battle the way Todd made me feel. I think my point in saying that is to say that Todd's peace with his situation was more inspirational to me personally than you would ever think an "Internet acquaintance" could be. The fact that he took the time as a fellow outdoorsman to engage a seemingly random group of strangers in his struggle and, in turn, created an inspired following of people from all over the country who had grown to care for him speaks volumes of his courage and character. Todd, Beachbummer, you will be sorely missed, but remembered and held in the highest regards by all of your fellow waterfowlers/mudmotor rednecks that you have inspired here on mudmotortalk, and I am proud to call myself a part of that group. Thank you for all that you have shown us. You will not be forgotten. |

Todd honestly inspired me as well. It made me appreciate things alot more.. Ive been through alot lately, and have definitely had a run of bad luck, but when I felt I was struggling, I just thought back and realized it can always be worse. Despite what he was going through, and all he had to struggle he still kept an awesome attitude, and outlook on things. Very good man indeed. We could all learn from him.. Thank you Todd for the inspiration and lessons you taught me. God bless. |

John 4:36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! Rest in Peace... God bless. I don't post on here much guys, but I was sitting here reading this and thought of the upcoming SETX mud run. I won't be there but I was thinking that if you guys that will be there did something to honor him out there it would be really special for everyone on here. I just read through his thread following his fight... It was tough to read that. |

Todd certainly showed us here at MMT alot ...... Strength, Courage, and Faith bein' at the top of the list. In the end he showed us the ticket to git off this planet earth ...... Thanks Todd ..... I'll always remember you and yore family in mines prayers. |

Todd's story effected me profoundly. My best friend died from a brain tumor. He once told me " this his harder on you'll than it is me". Will it has to be true. With that, when ever I had a poor me moment I would think of him and give myself a slap. Now I sure Todd and my buddy Darren share a blind. Their strength and well should be and is a blessing to us all. God bless you brothers, see you soon. May God bless and ease your families heart for their loss. Amen |
