Post subject:  Coastal Marsh Conservation & Mudmotors

With the upcoming SETX Mud Run and others, I think it's a good time to talk about conservation and our sport. While MudmotorTalk.com helps promote mud runs, it can also be a great vehicle to promote our sport in a positive light. While some runs take place in the swamp, others like the SETX run take place in the marshes. We can do our part in marsh conservation by everyone keeping their rigs in the mud and water. While these boats are more than capable of jumping marsh and islands, we ask that you only do this when it's absolutely necessary. Please remember that coastal erosion is a daily battle and we do not want to be blamed for taking a part in this. Remember that these areas are both public and private, so we ask that you please leave the area as you found it. Nobody cares about routing up mud but tearing up land can be an issue.

We can all have fun while doing our part by being good stewards.

Keep in mind that this isn't just for mud runs but all the time. It's up to us to keep our sport in a positive light.

Words right out of my mouth. Thanks Tony

I was just discussing this the other day with a few about the SETX run, and how the muddigras run in loureville years ago got a ton of flack, this being one of the reasons.

Hopefully people will respect this. Esp dont post tearing up the marsh on youtube!!!

Yea talk about a great topic. Id like to think all of us on this site are just as much conservationist as we are mud motor fanatics.
