Basically everything is longer. In order to run to console. And you get the foot control reverse since there is no tiller. It does not come with any steering controls at all. The controls are an extra 1300 on top o the motor price.

But does it come with the throttle/ control, throttle cable, key switch & laynard? The 1300 is just for steering? Also thanks for the info.

no throttle cable or control. but i do believe it comes with the key switch. the throttle parts are covered in the 1300 kit you buy. In my opinion you're better off buying your own steering parts and throttle assembly. I bought better quality parts for half the price using ebay and amazon. I got all teleflex sea star hydraulic stuff.

Did you get a side mount cylinder or one that mounts underneath? Would a yamaha controller work?

I got the teleflex sea star which is center mount. I sure as hell didnt want a 14" cylinder hanging off one side of my motor. plus the seastar is better quality here is what I bought. paid 350 plus shipping. this is the same ram gator tail uses on their dual rig set up. If you go to teleflex marine and look at the products/ catalog you can get the details on everything the have. Then google it and find the best price. U can get lucky on ebay if you look hard enough. or amazon will usually have the lowest price available.

most any hydraulic ram off another motor would work id thing just a matter of adapting ram to steering arm on the motor not everything bolts right up. You may have to buy an adapter. I do know that the ram I bought will bolt right up in about 30 seconds!!

DirtNasty thanks for the info. I'm glad you said you used the HC5345 ram. I am familar with it. The only pics that I could find had the side mount ram on the GTR. What brand throttle did you end up using? Was it a Morse? If you get a chance could you take a pic of how the cable attaches to the throttle linkage.

I don't have my motor yet. But there is a bracket on the motor that you connect a standard 10/32 end cable to and you attach that to your throttle linkage. It pretty simple. I however will have a mikuni carb and that set up is a little mor difficult. Not sure how I'm gonna do it. The throttle control I bought was one of the teleflex ch7500 models. Lever on left and has tilt trim buttons. Maybe someone who has a cc rig can post pics of their throttle set up for mikuni and help me out too

I dont have pics, but the center mount seastar ram will come into contact with the trim box when u trim up....this is likely the reason gatortail uses the sidemount ;)
It will still work, but u will need to be careful when trimming real high....especially if u run it in the bottom pin.

Oh yeah, and its much easier connecting the morse cable to the mikuni than the stock carb....both require a lil niggerrigging, I found mikuni to be easier.

why do they use the center on the dual drives then? its the same motor so if thats the case it would hit on them too.
