Ok, I have been using home made decoy butts with bilge pumps and a 12 volt feeder battery. MOJO just came out with their own and it has a 6 volt bilge on it. Does anyone know where to find them? I Can't seem to find them.

I've made several sets for friends. What do you see the advantage of 6V?

I add electronic auto flashers on them- I wonder how the flasshers will work on 6V?

deadbird, I too use this same set up with the turn signal flasher, just wondering about this new 6 volt bilge. Could have some good uses maybe.

I normally run two or three of mine off of one 12 volt deer feeder (in a bucket with a tube aired up to float) in the middle of my decoy spread. space out all three in a triangular pattern to get water movement through out my decoys. Has worked good for me. As well as having a 60 40 ratio of forward and reverse weighted decoys.

oh as for the advantage of the 6 volt, maybe light enough with a little base on the decoy to run inside of it.,, that is what mojo did. right now I still have to mess with wires and set up. Possible quicker if in decoy and can place them anywhere.

and on your set up, where is your battery? I noticed it looked like your turn signal flasher was under water. I have mine right next to the battery, but like I said I have it in a bucket that floats and do not use it as my weight. In the bucket I carry spare fuses and flasher and battery just in case. Will post pics later, but I can fit two 12 volt feeder batteries snugly in this little bucket and let if float.

I run a single 12v feeder battery per duckbutt. Just use the battery as an anchor and it deploys like every other decoy. Running wires out to a main battery is a hassel. Just throw it out and go on.

I run the line to a Plano box with a compartment in the top for the 2 wire trailer connector and switch. I run 2 batteries in the box and a 12" bike tire around it to keep it steady and floating upright. Keep a piece of burlap in the box for extra cover. Use the 2 wire connector for charging too- hardly have to open the box itself.

I pull the electronic flasher apart and fill with silicone or hot glue (have done both) to make them waterproof. Was using different flashers so they rock a little offset of each other (probably overkill). The bilge and flasher and line weigh down the decoy. I add a capped PVC with holes drilled into it to put on one of the bilge outlets- it sprays a little which gives alot of ripples, the other just 'whooshes'.

I tried without a box and the minerals in the water started corroding the battery terminals. I coil the line separate for each one and just throw out one and then the other and hook up to the box.



I use 2 batteries - this was a first run with one.
