I have a 1548 weldbilt and wondering what's going to work out best on it! I already have tilt and trim on the boat. This will be my first mud motor and can't have anything bigger then a 35 hp. What would you guess recommend?

Thanks:H20GASM

H20...Quick answer, the new GTR 25. However, my advice is to do a lot more research before you jump into this. That boat is not built for any of these motors. The aluminum is .100 and the transom is not what it should be. Most builders use thicker aluminum for their rigs. Don't be in a hurry with this. Research this site and you will learn a lot. If you plan on doing things in that boat that you cant do with a normal outboard, you will tear that boat to peices very quickly.

You've already got tilt and trim on the boat? Like the jack plate style cmc trim? If that's the case I'm pretty sure you can take that off and throw it away if you're putting a mud motor on the boat, it prolly ain't gonna work.

I been running a 35 gator tail with stage 1 on a 15/48 sea ark whole boat is .100 . I have jumped plenty of levees and hit a lot of logs and boat holds up greAt ,Before I had gator tai I ran a 27 Prodrive for 6 year with no boat problems unless you are ramming your boat into trees you will be just fine running a big motor on your boat
