These are the kind of people that make gun owners look bad and do more to harm the cause than to benefit. Same as a queer walking around with a gay pride flag in my book. Advertising beliefs to promote confrontation. |

Ok let's spin the table lil Miss Josey calls the law reports a man in the street with a gun, the police dept refuses to check into it because its a open carry state he then mows down x number of people etc etc Gotta have a little common sense some times |

Felon or not the fact of the matter is that someone called the Police out of concern. Common sense would indicate that the man was not deer or squirrel hunting in that area. Due to his actions he opened himself to being confronted by police. In Louisiana you are required by law to provide your name and or Identification to the detaining officer. http://www.legis.state.la.us/lss/lss.asp?doc=78264 |

Here too. Failure to comply results in you goin to jail. Just show him your damn permit and be on your way. Open carry is stupid anyways. If i come in a place to start shootin and i see your gun im killin you first. |

No more than 100years ago the majority of people carried guns on them at all times. You guys that are saying these fellas are making gun owners look bad, you are right. But in the same respect, they are only doing what is constitutionally their, and our right. Tbh I think it is great, what they're doing. I think it is a slap in the face that some of the police officers in this and other videos are do adamant about taking the gun from them and asking for an I'd. As a private citizen you have the right to decline as long as you are abiding the law. Personally I would not surrender my protection to a cop or anyone else who in turn could turn my own protection on me. Again , they would take my protection from my cold dead hands. All they need to know is that it is for my own personal protection. |

All that was fine and good up until the point someone in the community exercised their right and made a complaint at which time the man with the weapon got confronted and asked what he was doing. He then made a turd of himself. |

In this case the officer would have no reason to detain me or seize my gun. I'm well within my rights to carry a gun. So resisting an officer has no merit here in this circumstance. I just spoke to Chris chaisson. He's an attorney over here on my side of la. If you are within the law a cop has no right to even ask for your id. |

I'm not saying you're gonna get arrested or your gun seized just for open carry but I am saying don't be surprised when you get stopped and have to show your ID. |

You need no permit to open carry in Louisiana so I guess that's the difference. In your vehicle in Louisiana it has to be visible I believe. |

It's not public info in LA. They passed a law saying that CHPs are confidential. In LA a vehicle is an extension of your home so you can have it anywhere in it. How about let the cop do his job and if you are doing nothing wrong you will be on your way in a few. The cop receives a complaint so he had a duty to make sure no crime is afoot. Their job is hard enough with shit pay and this guy is just trying to jam him up on video. It makes all if us look bad. Keep advertising you have a gun and one day you make get sneaked and shot with your own piece. Get a CHP people and then you will have the element of surprise. I saw a guy in Walmart the other day open carrying with his young daughter with him. How fucking stupid is that? Y'all keep watching movies and ignore real tactics. |

Man that's awesome! So tired to the cops thinking the general law abiding citizens are stupid and giving us a hard time because they wear a badge and a gun. If he wants to win the bright shiny toaster at the end of the month maybe he should go after the punk ass gang banging thugs with their pants around their knees (not wearing suspenders) and earn the toaster the right way. Awesome |

I still haven't grasped why you guys are talking about la gun laws. The fucking video is in Maine! Opposite ends if the damn country! Your first mistake is arguing la carry laws against another state. No open carry is Maine is not illegal BUT we can all agree that's its a major attention getter! If you don't want the confrontation from police officers then don't promote it. The officer was extremely nice and all he wanted was Id. If that's too hard for you guys to understand then your a fool. La and tn are similar in that we are surrounded by states that allow carry permits. Maine on the other hand is a different story. There are a number of states close to maine that don't allow guns to be transported through the state let alone carry. And the states that do, most require that you transport them in a locked case and some even require the guns to be disassembled. Also (in tn) during any stop a cop has the right to disarm a carry holder of his weapon. I'm not saying Maine does but from the states I've read about this seems to be a common rule? It's not a big deal. |

Why are you talking about tn? This happened in Maine |

For the record you can conceal a weapon anywhere in your vehicle you'd like, just like your home. |
