 stencil blanks
Does anyone know if anyone sells blank stencil sheets? I'm looking for the plastic/vinyl ones that reelfoot uses.

 Re: stencil blanks
I picked up similar stuff at a place up here called Commercial Art Supply. Basically it's just what the name says and they have all sorts of art, design, and blueprinting supplies. If you've got something like that by you, you may want to look into it first. The stuff I picked up were thin, flexible lexan sheets. They had all different sizes and thicknesses. It was years ago, but I don't remember them as being very expensive.

 Re: stencil blanks
Try an arts and craft place. My wife found blank sheets at either Michael's or Hobby Lobby.

 Re: stencil blanks
You can get blank acitate sheets at any art supply store. They will have various sizes. They even have tools to cut out stencils with that are easier than an exacto knife.

 Re: stencil blanks
i got some from hobby lobby, dont bother asking anyone where they are because they prob dont know, atleast the manager at this store i went to said they didnt have any thin plastic sheets to make stencils. after i found them by the poster boards i asked if they was free since they wasnt supposed to be in the store. needless to say i payed 1.50 a sheet and used an exacto blade to cut it out.

 Re: stencil blanks
Made mine out of cheap signs from Home Depot....
Paid for a stencil kit - but the stencils were super fragile - so I replecated them by tracing with a Sharpie pen.... Still have the originals...
Back of Beware of Dog - or For Sale is white - drew on pattern and cut out with the exacto knife - they are a bit stiffer than normal stencils which actually helps the durability - paid about .50 to .70 cents each for them....

 Re: stencil blanks
I already have the Reelfoot stencils. I kind of implemented DB8's idea and went to Lowe's yesterday and bought a couple of the larger for sale signs and used the original stencil by spray painting the new sign, and then cut it out with a razor blade. It was a little tedious but worth it. Now I have multiple stencils to work with. While one is drying you can be doing another, that way you can always be paiting on something. The stiffer plastic I think will be much easier to work with.
If I get to it this weekend I will post up some pics.
