That should be plenty big enough. I would recommend synthetic rope. One less thing to rust or cut your waders... |

Get the PVC set right and hit it with enough speed and you may not need the winch |

Superwinch terra 35 with synthetic rope is the best valued winch on the market imo.... amazon.com has great deals on these winches. |

Post subject: | Re: what size winch for boat |
Also get 6" pvc and use a table saw to halve them......line your path about 4' apart......make sure you hit them straight on so you dont fall off the pvc. |

I had a cheap ass harbour freight on my old boat for a couple of years and it never failed......I went with the sw 3500 for the faster gear ratio for my new boat and have yet to use it..... I only need it for the tall levees. The shorter ones I jump. |

How are yall mounting them on the boat. I see some have had receivers and put them on in that. Can it be put up in a way that it can be attached only when you need it? And keep it in the dry box the rest of the time? |

I also have the terra 3500 w/ synthetic, haven't used it to pull my boat. But i'm sure it would pull in on dry ground. |

Good thinking! I wanna order a 50' extension too |

Post subject: | Re: what size winch for boat |
Just go buy 50' of cable or rope. You'll save half your money! While you're at Home Depot, pick up a respectable fire extinguisher too; you couldn't put out a cigarette with that damn thing! ![]() |

Post subject: | Re: what size winch for boat |
Pretty sure that's not Halon, but good try... Also, Halon is effective for sealed compartments, so no, it wouldn't work too well just sprayed on your motor or fuel tank. It's a gas, and it needs to flood an area to lower the oxygen content of that space. |

Gator glide cant overcome gravity and it would cause you to slide back down defeating the purpose of getting almost to the top.... less time winching. sent from the former Republic of Texas. |
