For you guys that take your kids out in your boat do you have them wear any hearing protection? When my motor was stock last year my kids loved going for rides now this year since i have done mods to my motor and it is louder my one 4 year old told me she doesn't like going because of the noise. I got her to go tonight by telling her i had ear plugs but they didn't stay in her ears too well. Anyone know of any kind of ear plugs or muffs that would work well with kids? I really want to beable to take my kids out. Thanks

This pair fits my lil one. But she will not keep them on so she rides without them.. started her in the front and let her work her way to the back of the boat with me. Now she loves it and seems like the noise doesnt mess with her.. its bad for them just like us but they just like us im not wearing that daddy. We all said that one day im sure.

i'll have to run to the wal-mart and get me a pair of those to try. she rides in the front half of the boat now so she's as far away as possible. The noise doesn't seem to bother her twin sister or her littler sister just her. Hell maybe shes just always ornery and bitching about something like her mother.

These are what my wife wears. My son has a black pair. They are pretty compact for muffs and comfortable. uploadfromtaptalk1372942165500.jpg

My 3y/o isn't really find of a loud motor when running across the lake so I put her up front with the wife. No need in making them miserable listening to a loud motor and taking the fun out of it for them.

Not to mention you don't want their hearing ruined by the time they are 10. c'mon people they are kids, remember "Protect them at all cost"

Indeed takem is right. Just as you should be responsible and wear your pfd regardless of regulations, especially when your kids are in the boat, to set a good example, why not take it a step farther and give them some hearing protection? If you work in the refineries or chemical plants you'd gave a greater appreciation for hearing protection. No sense in having a young one with hearing loss. Jmo

Harbor Freight has some cheap and light muffs. Think they're $2:49.
