uploadfromtaptalk1375042823786.jpg Stayed at my buddies house on Ramrod Key during the 2 day mini season. We got our 5 person limit (30) in 4 hours on day 1 and 2 hours on day 2. We caught them freediving since we were finding them in 7-10 feet deep. My buddy put on a tank once just because we found a hole that was loaded and it was taking to long to weed out the shorts. We got after them pretty good this year, but nothing like last year. Our first hole (Gulfside, Marathon) had 33 legals. After that it was a slow but steady pick; I think the next best hole had 9 legals. Last year we had holes with 35, 32, 28, 22. . . The bugs this year were either at least 1/8" over legal size or 1/8" under. Hardly any "barely legals." Not as many lobster this year, either. Here's a video from 2012. It wasn't as good this year so I'm having a tough time getting motivated to do another video. I did it back in the 90's in Southern California. It was a lot of fun. I don't remember the limit being very large though. |
