Never been there but I'm sure it's like any other place. Get far away from anyone where you can work birds and you will probably be okay! Oh and good luck with someone giving you an idea with where to go. |

If you arent hunting a blind with locals, stay off the lake. Especially on opening weekend. The locals dont really like outsiders and there is a blind every 2-300 yards. They will all be hunted opening day. |

The law of the land is different out there than anywhere else in the state or world for that part Opening day it will be packed, during the week you can find places to hunt, if you do use someone's blind out there and they show up then just kindly move on and ther won't be an issue If you have the attitude that it is public land and I was here first is when the problems arise. Even tho it is public most of those spots were grandfathered in from families or also purchased from someone so when they have money involved in the blind and they hear its public is when the problems start It ain't right but that is the way it is I wouldn't recommend getting in someone's blind on the opening weekends at all tho |

When Florida allowed permanent blinds, it was only reserved for the builder of the blind on opening morning. After that, it was first come first serve. Of course each situation is different, but people rarely hunted out of a blind that wasn't theirs. I never found anyone in my blind and only hunted out of another blind once. 3 years ago permanent blinds were outlawed on public lakes. A lot of the ole timers(50+yr old) that had blinds quit hunting there and now the DC crew, the ones who get there at midnight and drink through legal light, have taken over most of the lake. |

I took a ride out there last year just to check it out and see what all they hype was. I can tell you that there are literally blinds every 200 yards. I had a popup blind and was thinking about just setting up on the edge, but after seeing what I saw, I decided it would not be worth it to hunt there. Like someone said, people have out hundreds and thousands of decoys. I think I might go back there this year and hunt during the week, when it won't be as crowded and I can maybe get in someone's blind. I hate the idea of hunting out of someone's blind, but out there, you almost have too. If anyone comes, I'll just move to the next one. Like i said I don't like hunting people's blinds, but you cannot build one out there because it will just get tore down. And 3-4 dozen decoys are no match for 1000. Just my .02. |

Well we gonna give it a try. 3-4 dozen decoys, 4 mojos and 2 people on calls. If we dont get them it wont be for lack of effort |

Opening morning will just be a pass shooting day. There's so many ppl that it's hard to get ducks to work cuz someone will shoot and flare the ducks you were trying to work. Try hunting in the evening also it's pretty good hunting and not so many ppl. Sent from my iPhone using Smoke Signals |

I have a blind out there and my family has 3 others. We have been hunting out there for 40 years. My blind has been there for about 25 and has been passed down. It is a public lake but like said on here you have your spots that you have had for ever. There is no room for new people to move out there. and if someone does everybody around will know they are not suppose to be there and prob will be asked to leave. I had a guy that hunts out there that tried to move his blind towards me this weekend. Well needless to say his blind was untied and pushed away! I met him the next day and told him I moved it and he would have to move away. He is 300 something yards from me but there has never been a blind where he wants to go and there never will. I was nice enough to tell him to move. Some of my family member would just light it on fire or something like that. If he got an attitude they would whip his ass give him hell and so on. When I was a kid and someone was in our blind I have seen people pull guns and so on to get the hell out. The blinds are private property not the lake. |

Well jt if u read above comments I clearly state that im not setting up a permanent blind or going in anyones blind. Just looking for places to hunt. And I promise you if anyone would pull a gun one me for setting up somewhere they better kill me as soon as they pull it out becase mines trigger tends to be very itchy. |

Im just telling you how it is. There is green tree right down the road from there and another place that possibly could be better which is a wma and can only go by boat blind and cant got until 4 and have to pick up decoys would be spring bayou.. Just letting you know what you would be getting into. and another thing it will be hard to kill with 3 dozen decoys. you may kill a few passing high but its hard to compete with 2 and 3000 decoys |

The chance of having guns pulled on you For some damn ducks???? Would be a sad day in the swamp for someone to lose their life because another person THINKS they own a piece of public land cause their grandpappy ran people off the same way years ago. You are some maniac muthafukkers down there, I'll stay up north and kill ducks in October and deer in November. Sent from my iPhone using 2 somewhere in the swamp |
