Just wondering if anyone runs this set up and what changes you needed to do to get it to work out well for you? Pics would be great with what you have done. I understand that this may not be the ideal setup and or be hard to accomplish. Thanks Phil |

Not sue if this helps, but earlier in the year when I was starting my boat build, I was gonna do the hunt deck. Most claimed that the none floating handle wouldnt clear the transom when you hit something due to the set back "and / or" the handle wasn't long enough. So I didn't do it. Not sure if that helps. |

if you do..gonna have to cut the false transom down and move the trim pump to the inside the false transom..have to extend the hoses and the tiller also sport deck would be way easier |

Prolly be able to do it if you fabricated a floating handle. Get with one of the boat builders on here, or a local welding shop to see what they can do for ya. If not sport deck would be your best option IMO... |

Got 301 hrs on gator Trax hd with 36 pd. don't buy the tiller extension have them build You a longer tiller. Leave the trim switch on the motor to make you flip horse collar. You'll thank me later on that one. Tle motor doesn't hit the false transom or the deck. A lot of folks know a lot about the setup wo ever running one. |

Sorry what I meant was he never heard of a solid tiller handle being needed that the extension would be just fine. After googling and reading I think everything I could find on this I must say I am sad lol. I just don't want the cumbersome aspects that come with the combination of a hunt deck and a PD. I would rather not have to use an extension, also the controls being far back may be a PITA I have done electrical on oilfield equipment (building pumpers, N2 and Coil units) can't see that being much more than a days job, moving the hydraulic unit is not a problem but having the rigging run over the transom would bother me, I guess if you were getting a custom boat built you could address that situation. That is really too bad because I am kinda sold on both of them. I guess it is back to the old drawing board, I have found some pic of sport decks but not sure if this will allow enough room for dog to hunt off of. Other option is to go Gator tail I would imagine. I just read lots on the belt vs gears debate as well and reverse vs reverse. This is not as easy as I thought......not like going to Wal Mart and just picking your shit out. Thanks Phil |

If you did the tiller extension the entire extension rotates. You are correct the control box becomes a pain in the ass. I moved the control box to the grab bar and it works great. After one season I had enough of the extension because you could feel the entire tiller flex when slamming down in the lilies. Would it have caused a failure I don't know. But I went back to KP told him what I wanted and he built it. I don't remember the cost but it was about twice what the tiller extension cost. If you have them build the longer tiller then you can leave the controls on the tiller. I ran the hydraulic lines in the same bundle as the power lines. I've had 2 dogs run the hunt deck, a 2 yo little girl run the hunt deck and this is were we get in and out of the boat while hunting. No issues with the hydraulic lines. I have 1/2 boxes about 8" inside the false transom so you would want the extension if you want to sit down. The big thing is DON'T get under the tiller when it's running. But that is free advise for any tiller handle PD. |

I have the PD gen3 on a huntdeck GTrax. It has the 18" extension. I wish they had a 24" option. As others mentioned it's a pain reaching the trim switch on the control box. Hydro cables and power cables are all routed over the false transom. Pump is mounted on the back of a gun box. You never notice any of that stuff in the way. A longer custom floating handle with a repositioned control box may be in my future. I wouldn't trade the huntdeck. |

Oh, that's right, their hunt deck is completely wasted space. Another brilliant idea! ![]() ![]() |

Had a hunt deck GatorTrax (loved it) with a Sport Hyperdrive. Switched to a Prodrive for the FPR. Had to split the trim pump and mount it on the inner transom. Ran the hyd and electric bundle over the hunt deck. Did not get in the way. Put an extension on the Prodrive tiller/throttle. That part worked OK. Got tired of parking my butt out on the hunt deck to reach the release to rotate to reverse. I think if I'd had the automatic powered reverse or Rod's remote pin puller handle it would have been a different story. Got rid of the boat, not the Prodrive. I like the Phowler hull I have now but miss the hunt deck boat. |

Phil, it drives really good. But my PD is the only one I have ever drove. I have not had any issues with it. The guy that I bought it from, installed the PD and the extension handle, and as far as I know, he didn't run into any problems either. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but the hunt deck on my boat is small compared to most... |
