I have a 648 lab wareagle with a 35 gatortail on it and absolutely love the boat and motor. Only problem is when I have a load ("three guys, no telling how many dozen decoys, blind bags, guns, and dog") it takes a stretch to finally get on plane. What do I do to fix this? Is there any way to?? Or should I just chunk this one and get a new riffle next year? Someone told me
Pods would help a lot but take away some of the turn radius? Just need some advice on this any would be appreciated!

Wrong style boat for a mudmotor. I had a 1754 war eagle and when loaded down wouldnt plane ever. Boat would do just fine when light laoded. Best answer is to get different boat made for mudmotors. Pods mite help some but wont be best fix for performance.

You need a different boat, or you need more power added to the motor. That is the only two answers there is.

Nothing you can do other then more power or different boat. I run a 1651 excel and 35 dixie. Love both motor and boat. Dont run mud like alot of guys here. Not that I wouldnt love to, we just dont have the tides here in SE Bama. For what I need the boat/motor does GREAT. 3 guys and all gear I run 15... Solo 25ish. 2 guys around 22 with gear. If Im that concerned over 2-3mph Ill just leave 2-3 minutes sooner

Regear your prop shaft to a 50 or 52 tooth sproket or go to a flater pitched prop, with less dia.

another vote for a different hull. ribbed boats cause turbulance at top of qwater and cause prop to blow out. mods will help, and so will a longer outdrive.good luck

I don't consider myself and 3 passengers to be a considerable load unless I'm dragging out an ass ton of decoys with them. Although myself and most of the guys I hunt with weigh 200 lbs or less.

You need an 18' mud hull.
