:?: has anyone cut the handle on their motors and centered it i'm having to reach for it thought i might try and center it in front of trim motor cover.

It would be a lot easier to learn where the handle is then to try to move over 4 inches.

Any particular reason you can't just stand or sit a little closer to the center of the boat? This thread confuses me some..

Y'all are fucking wrong, you'll probably get in a wreck today and loose your left arm now.

Instead of cutting it off and moving it over, remove it and have an offset bent into it.

This syndrome is know as "alligator arms", I ve seen this on several occasions when some of my friends reach for the bill or their wallet during breakfast , sad really.

Are you trying to make it easier to sit down and drive? Is your boat pretty wide or something?

Post subject:  Re: handle on gatortail motors

A surface drive needs to be driven pretty much in the front the tiller instead of on side.

Biggest contributor to tiller tork. People who get a box built to sit and drive. You start out with a very unbalanced boat.

not if you put weight on the other side to balance it out.

I'm guessing if you have a wide boat with a skinny seat then your handle will be further away from you. I don't really know because I've never been in anything wider than a 48.

So instead of modifying you motor just put a seat base on the edge of your seat and put a seat in it or put a wider seat in your boat to get closer to your motor.

Could always trade it off for one of those new MB. The handle is usually on the floor, where you could just pick it up when you want it.
