Post Who installs poly bottoms??
I am going to be getting a new custom build boat this spring not sure, what builder yet but everyone of them I have talked to so far will put a 3/16" bottom on the boat, but don't install 3/8" poly bottoms. Does anybody know of a company that will install 3/8" poly on a new boat after it's built? Thanks guys!

You can do it yourself with a drill. Find someone who messes with airboats and they should be able to help you out.

Went do you want 3/8 on a mud boat? I think that's silly. I had 1/8 or 3/16 glued on my last boat and it was fucking incredible. Don't bolt it on. And don't go 3/8. It s totally unnecessary dude. Trust me

They have a guy at marks airboats in franklin that does it as a side job. Call them and ask.

Thanks guys for the info!! I live in East TN and all our rivers have razor sharp limestone out croppings just below the water is why I want the 3/8" poly I don't think 1/8 will hold up. I have heard horror stories about gluing poly on the bottom of boats where it came off and flipped airboats killing the guys. I will call marks and see what they say!!

Maybe just bolt it on in the front on the rake to secure it and then glue it the rest of the way. I'm up river from you man i hunt the holston river also so i know what youre talking about the rocks and have contemplated putting it on my boat

Howdy I PM you. I talked to Brent at marks airboats, he said a ball park figure to install the poly would be $3500 to $4000. I then ask him what would happen if you hit a rock sticking up out of the water say 4"-6" with 3/16" hull and 3/8" poly at 25+mph he said most likely it would shear the rivets and dent the boat or even rip a section of poly off. I was surprised to hear this because the guy at rock proof boats said you would just bounce over it. I had a 1448 tracker grizzly with a 40-60 jet on it. The hull was only .100 and I hit rocks with it a lot that brought me to a complete stop at 25+ mph. it never put a hole in it because it was so light. Beat the hell out of the bottom but always kept going. So Now I am kind of thinking about getting the lightest mud boat that I can get my hands on. Cheaper and a lot easier to repair. I totaled that boat this past spring lol. Floating down a fast river I caught a stump on the side of the boat and capsized me instantly. It then floated down upside down through rock filled rapids completely destroying the motor. Didn't hurt the boat, but my insurance scrapped it since the motor cost the most. May just get another boat like that.
