 New Boat
Considering a new boat either Phowler or Gator Trax boat will be multi purpose both fishing and duck hunting. Can anyone provide an honest not biased review of both boats????
Any input greatly appreciated.

 Re: New Boat
DMCZ--I have an 1848 Phowler Extreme and a Prodrive 36 (stock) and I love the boat. The boat handles shallow water very well and is very durable. I've bounced off of many cypress and oak trees in the last 6 duck seasons and have only managed to rub off a little paint here and there. My motor is a 2006 model and is stock so I won't win any races. Also, my 1848 is super-sized with a heavy duty pointed bow making 19'2" long and it has 25" sides. I run 23-24 mph with 2 men (500lbs), Avery blind, guns, shell bags, 3 doz weighted keel decoys, 2 deep cycle batteries, 6 gal gas, 2 seats, 5' gun box and safety gear. The boat is very comfortable when blind hunting and hides relatively easy. It turns really well under power with the PD. I can run narrow sloughs very aggresively without fear of losing control. The tapered chine will slide slightly if the boat is lightly loaded but "bites" well when the boat is loaded. I also have a Yamaha 2 stroke 50 hp outboard that I run in the spring and summer. It will push the boat 34 mph and literally jumps out the hole and on plane. The boat tends to slide more with the outboard, but again, very easily controlled.
I purchased the boat over the phone from Paul W (muddoctor) and it was a very easy process. He listened to all my requests and made them happen. I got the exact boat that I asked for. I would buy again from them should this boat ever need replacing.
