Does anyone know what size shims gator tail sends out? I need to tighten my belt and looking for some shims locally. Will any shim work as long as the belt tension is right? Or does anyone in the Slidell area have some that would get rid of? Also I know my belt is loose and would the belt being loose make it walk back and forth on the gear? thanks

I would think any shim material would work

Most the shims i have seen used are maybe 1/16 at the most but thats all gonna depend on how loose you are....the belt moving on the gear is normal to a certain extent

Iirc, the set they sent me were .010", .020" and .030". I have also heard of people using large fender washers from the hardware store.
