Post subject:  GTR VS PD full power reverse

rode in someones GTR during hunting season and finally got my pro drive and to me the two dont evern compare. PD is just all around a more solid motor, felt like the gtr was goin to vibrate apart in my hands, thing felt like junk. and there is no way in hell a stuck GTR and get out of what a stuck PD can get out of, i just dont see it happening, full power reverse is unbelievable. i almostr bought a GTR and glad i let a friend talk me into a PD. i will own nothing else. fuck your instandt reverse, give me full power reverse any day of the week over instant, if i want instant reverse ill go get an outboard

Was the PD you ran auto reverse? 2 blade or 3 blade prop?

Just think if if you had $1900 to add efi. You woud prolly shove the tiller up your ass you'd be so happy:lol:

This is going to be awesome.

I do however think you might be going a little overboard.
1. Any surface drive will vibrate if the weight distribution is not right.
2. There is no way you can decide which motor is better on just a couple hours on the tiller.
3. What is your reasoning for saying PD is better and GT is junk? Is it just vibration?

For the record I think both are great motors for different reasons. I do not think it is accurate to say either are junk. We can find something wrong with every motor if we look for it.

Auto reverse and 2 blade

Post subject:  Re: GTR VS PD full power reverse

I haven't used the auto reverse but mine is ratchet and I dont use it unless I'm stuck...which doesn't happen where I hunt. If I'm out dicking around exploring and get into a bind the FPR is nice but 99% of the time its not practical. For me the full power reverse is just not as useful as an instant reverse would be for trailering, decoys, backing out of the blind and so on.
