Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a yeti and an engel and I thin the engel is better than a yeti. Pelican looks like a great cooler. Don't they have lifetime warranties too?

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
Won a yeti last year...Not sure if i would have ever paid that much for one before. One bonus i find with the yeti is the latches. Nothing mechanical to break/crack....
They are solid rubber. As far as the rest i cannot compare.
I will say this,,,,i have been through enough "IGLOO MARINE" Icechest 54/94/120qt to know i could have purchased 1 good on with what i spend on the icechest then repair parts.
Over time,,,it does make since...

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have few yeti's I like them haven't paid full price for one of them yet is only reason I have them! The problem these coolers is once you fill them up, you have to have help losing them or moving them around!! Damn things are heavy!! But if the pelicans would have been out I prolly would have bought them instead

Lifetime warranty. Seems like this would be the best deal because they are price competitive and good for life. http://www.pelican.com/support/guarantee.phpSent from my beeper

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a pelican & it is stout. It seems to be heavier than others (but this is not fact, Just from what it seems like from picking up others.) I also have Engels.
Pelican rounds down on their quart sizing where yeti rounds up. So a pelican 45qt may actually be 48qts. Where yeti 45qt may actually be 42qts

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a 45qt Pelican and a 70qt Yukon.
I like the Yukon better, its lighter and holds ice twice as long, and half the price. (Igloo factory in Houston has a blowout sale in the fall and they have them half off)
The Pelican is more square and will not tip over. The Yukon is a little skinnier and will tip over. Usually in the back of the truck if you slam the brakes on.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I recently became a dealer for Brute Coolers through my website /club FishWestEnd, LLC. The nice thing about the Brutes is that the total quarts that is listed is the actual inside dimension... For example a Yeti is measured on the outside. This causes a smaller interior space for cold drinks etc. If anyone wants some prices I can send you my pricing list just shoot me a PM or e-mail at coe(at)fishwestend.com I can also do custom logos or designs, collegiate school logos, MMT logo assuming Tony would let me use it and pay him royalties

Last year I bought a brand new tan 45qt pelican off of amazon for $210.00. But they have seemed to go up since.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have yeti's, but I would look for bigger drain holes and it would be nice to have one on each side. Also a ruler to measure fish on top. Always check your rulers though, I have found most to be off.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
Ive had a yeti, icy tek, and a buddy who has a pelican. Sold both of the expensive coolers after getting a coleman xtreme as a gift. It holds ice just as long if not longer than the high name brands. Sure the others may last longer but if you take care of your stuff that shouldn't be a problem. The 70qt coleman is 50 at academy. Also the lids are built more stable so you can stand or sit on them without crushing it. I'd look into it before jumping on the name brand. This is the one I have http://www.coleman.com/product/70-qt-xt ... egory=8581

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a Coleman xtreme and a yeti and no the Coleman doesn't even compare. Only way a Coleman will actually hold for 5 days is if u never open it. If u using it to drink from the ice will be gone in 2 days where the yeti won't.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I've got a 2yr old 55qt Brute Box with a jacked up gasket and cracked latches that keeps ice better than my buddies brand new Yeti... They sell that name a lot of the time. I'm extremely happy with my Brute. 99% of the time it lives on the back of an oilfield service truck. It does not see an easy life...

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
For what it's worth, I have one of the original 85qrt yeti tan tundras, the other day I was driving on interstate pulling my boat with the cooler in the back of it when all of a sudden the cooler flys up in the air 10 ft and lands directly behind the boat in the center lane almost causing a terrible accident cars swerving to miss ,the cooler is hit by a car knocking it in to another lane and tumbling down the side of interstate . Unbelievably there was no accident , how the cooler got airborne in the first place is a mystery , it was empty and all i can think is it must have tipped just enough for the force of wind to lift directly out of the boat. By the time I was able to pull over I was a good two hundred yards from where it layed on the side of the interstate . I was shocked when I got to it and found hardly any damage the major damage was to three corners that had gouges in them . I did have turf on top of the lid which I believe helped with protecting the top while it tumbled down the road .the lid remained in tact and no damage appeared to rest of the cooler it still seals and opens like It did . I was highly impressed I usually don't brag about my stuff but if I was ever going to by another cooler it would be a yeti. Not sure if the new ones are as good I got this cooler the first year they were available paid 300 for it !!!

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a 70 Igloo tundra & a 35 tan yeti. Both are nice. Each have nice features. Good latches on both. Igloo has a huge drain. Both heavy as hell. I still don't use them for fish. A 90 igloo marine is good for fish if you take care of them. You can tear up anything if you mistreat it. My cousin got a DU k2 this year. ..I don't like the latches that you have to lift to latch.

I have an engel. The only thing I do not like is the latches. Now I find they are a little loose. I may would try a pelican next. I have a 65 qt, engel so maybe a smaller Pelican.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a 50 qt yeti. The lid warped and would not seal. It was a couple years old. I filled out the warranty form on their website just requesting a new lid. and they contacted me the next day. Wanted a couple of pictures at lid level and 2 days later I have a new cooler come in via fed ex. Great service and no hassle on replacing it

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
The best cooler I have found are Brutes best latches on the market hands down most insulation awesome molded handles and the best part made out of Dallas! They have a lifetime warranty and honor it too. Buddy ordered one same time I did and his lid was warped sent them an email and they sent him a whole new ice chest no questions asked. The customer service is first class ordered one Monday mid morning was at my door step Tuesday afternoon and I live about 3hrs away. Y'all go check them out. There prices are very reasonable and not to heart breaking. My dad has 2 yetis and his next cooler is going to be a 120qt Brute!! Brute FTW!

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have a 22, 45, and 105 yeti. The 22 and 105 hold ice great. For some reason the 45 doesn't. Maybe five six days tops. I just drained my 105 today after two weeks and 5 days. And it still had a little ice in it.

Re: Yeti, K2, Igloo Yukon, or Pelican
I have one of the 35qt pelicans and they are stout. It does weigh more than my buddy's 35qt Yeti its also bigger outside and inside. I like the pelican if you don't have to move it alot, thought the plastic handles make it easier to carry when it is fully loaded vs. The rope handles on the yeti.
