This past week I ordered an 1860 GTB with GTR35 with no mods. I fish and hunt the Port O'connor Tx area. I am use to running my bay boat 5-8 miles 1 way to get to my spots. Might be a stupid question but can you run a Mudmotor those distances or were they designed for shorter hauls?
ALSO, i need a handheld GPS unit and was wondering what brand/model some of you guys use?

Check out the garmin gps 60csx.
www.Amazon.com has the best prices.

You can get different maps sets to suite your needs.

Those engines can run a few thousand hours and then some with no problems. The distance you run won't be a problem. With no mods, it will just take you longer.....

I have made many runs over 50 miles in a day. You will be surprised at how many miles you can cover when your out having fun. Actually put about 130 miles on the PD in an overnight juggin trip last year.

Scotty,

you should have no problem with that at all. Just remember that gas at the station will never do you any good, and that mud motors don't run in sand. I keep some PVC pipe in my gun box for the next time I get stuck on sand.

I have a bushnell onix 400 GPS. You can download color aerial maps, get XM weather and radar on it and all that.....but, I have had a lot of problems with it. According to customer review at cabelas, its either a love it or hate it. If I was going to drop that much coin for a GPS again I would get the garmin colorado. I think thats the other one that has aerial maps for it.

Hope that helps and drop a line of you want to go riding sometime...

I've run 20 miles in an afternoon during the summertime easy. Longer during the winter.

Get the Garmin 76csx... best handheld you can buy.

You can put the sections of pvc under your hull to slide it across to break the suction. I guess he saying don't run out of gas.
