However, they take a couple payments and cover you until the end of the month EVEN THOUGH its not an acceptable boat? I would demand a credit and cancel immediately. |

I had progressive and they canceled mine as well.. Said they can't insure boats with mud motors. They'll insure a bass boat that's runs 90 but not a surface drive rig that runs 30. |

My agent said progressive is canceling all mud boat and custom boat policies. Check out foremost they have some good coverage and reasonable rates. |

I just renewed my policy with Boat US and it was 275 a year for full replacement cost on my Gator Tail. It also includes both on the water and on the road towing assistance. I went with Boat US last year after Progressive dropped my policy 3 weeks after they wrote my new policy on my rig. They said it was due to the type of propulsion. But switching saved my about 50 a year. |

Even if you have to get all of that to get the insurance, if it is only a little bit more or the same, it would be worth it. They will tow your boat and trailer if there is a problem. No one else will do that. |

This is part of the reason I bought a $4K rig and basically insure it myself I have another boat thru farmers where I have all my vehicles and motorcycle, it was easier that way plus I had already heard the BS about some companies not insuring mud boats. I just dodged it completely. I try to keep things simple.
