Took ownership of my new gtr35 with stage 1 and the new lower with handle and 3 blade. Took it out and best speed I got was 26.8 @3800 ish rpms. Does this sound right? Motor stepped right up on step. Seems like I might be able to trim up a bit more but I am maxed out with the trim. Any suggestions Also my idle was a little high at 1800ish. Little help adjusting the idle would be appreciated. Other than that the motor was smooth with very little to no vibration. I am very happy with the motor. Once I get some more tiller time on it I will post a full review. |

Is it on your excel boat? |

Either way, it should be better than that. Check your throttle travel first. |

that doesn't seem right man. what does their stage 1 consist of ? Im not sure what the excels are but i know if you put a Gtail on a GT your need to get the transome built up a few inc, MNgunner had to do it. I know from running both Gtail and MB that they don't trim as high as the MB does, not saying thats the problem but it something i noticed. |

Stage 1, cam heads, exhaust. There are 4 pin holes on the new motors. It's in the 2nd hole from the bottom. Yes it is on my excel without a shim. I mounted the motor and the housing was exactly an 1/2 inch from running level with the bottom of my boat so I left it alone. There is no spray coming up between the housing and the transom when I'm running. I can tell it's about perfect but seems to be just a cunt hair off. |

Does the pin position also matter with the upward travel also or just downward trim? |

Post subject: | Re: GTR 35 arrived today! |
Move your pin up it will give more up trim |

Post subject: | Re: GTR 35 arrived today! |
put the pin in the second to last hole and see how it does. you may need to go to the top hole. Being able to trim it up some more should let you get some more rpms. Also did they put that spring on the carb for you? |

Appreciate it fellas. The motor is Damn smooth, even compared to the spot v I used to have.lmao So moving the pin will give me the upward travel I probably am looking for. |

Pin up, had to do it with my war eagle gtr combo. Helped trimming up to sweet spot, you loose ability to dig, but a quick change pin can be made easily Samsung S5 |

Idle can be adjusted from the front of the motor I brought mine down to 900 in neutral, in gear runs about 700-800 in the water and doesn't stall when I put it in gear. You will see a hole to the left side of your choke, use a long philips screw driver and turn it counter clockwise, will bring your idle down doesn't take much. I would let the engine warm up then start turning it down while its running. I have mine in the second pin on top with a 22 degree transom I'm trimmed all the way up and seems to be ok running 27 mph deep water. Hope that helps, im running 3600 rpm stock motor with the 3 blade same motor as yours. Also I only have the governor spring the it didn't come with the other one. If I can get more speed added the other one I want to know hahaha |
