Have the seller let you put it on your boat and take it for a spin.

Not abad price, but I would see if seller would allow you to take it to a dealer and have it plugged into their computor. Kaw engines are fuel injected and have to be serviced once in awhile as far as fuel system, also check radiator have herd they develope leaks from vibration cracks. If props any good it should push your boat in the low Twentys.

If its at a prodrive dealer in IA, it must be at Illowa. They will prob help you put it on your boat so you can try it out. You already know its not the perfect set up, so why spend money on a maybe????????

Re: motor with boat question (advice needed)
I think thats why we are suggesting to test it on your hull to make sure you can be happy with it. Its seems like a good price but only you can be sure. Never heard of any serious issues. Parts are expensive and if I remember correctly they didn't have the torque of the air cooled engines. Either way there is a reason they are no longer used. It should be like night and day compaired to what you running now though.
