Hey guys i moved down here to south Texas from SC almost 3 months ago. Is there anyone on here from down this way? I'm about an hour from the Rio Grand Vally. I'm down here working doing a year long internship at a hunting camp. I'm looking for some people to go ride with (if there is any mud to even go ride in) and some help getting pointed in the right direction to try and kill some birds (early teal and regular season). Don't want your secret honey hole i just would like to be pointed in the right direction. Was hoping to go hit the water tomorrow and do a little bass fishing and scouting. Any help would mean a lot!!

Best success I've had in that area . We hunted ag fields and stock water tanks . Good luck.

Find a place to dove hunt. The white wings will be thick next month. The Laguna madre has the largest population of red heads that migrate for the winter. We hunted open water spreads with shitty results the few times I went. There is No mud that I know of.
Where are you working at?

We are already covered up with white wings, and have plenty areas to ride. As of yesterday we don't have any teal, but they generally don't show up until September anyway...last year I had to cancel all of my early teal hunts because they didn't show up until October.

During regular season we shoot multiple species of waterfowl. Common species are BWT & GWT with a few Cinnamon in the mix, Gadwall, Mottle Ducks, Pintail, Redheads, Canvasback, Mallards "late season", Wigeon, Specks, Skycarp, and Sandhill Crane...trash ducks include Whistlers, Mr. Spoony, Ringneck's, Scalp, and Bufflehead. I'm sure I missed a couple, but you get the idea.

I grew up hunting NE Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana...South Texas is just about as good as it gets.

I'm like an hour to am hour and a half south of kingsville. I'm south of falfurious. I'm working at a hunting camp on king ranch. To me the only trash ducks are spoonies and mergansers. I'd much rather shoot green heads but I will take what I can get.

You're working on the Encino division of the King Ranch, and need a place to duck hunt? Pull some strings, and I'll show you around. I've worked all over the ranch, but not for hunting.

The Norias division would be even better, but beggars can't be choosers.

I'll trade you LA ducks, bowfishing for reds or whatever for a Nilgai or Nilgirl! That is the best meat.

How far is the north side of Houston from any decent duck hunting in TX? Thinking about a possible move over there next year and I don't know much about their duck/goose hunting or trout/red fishing? Thx.

I am working/doing an internship for a hunting camp on the Encino division. Pretty much all of our "ponds/lakes" are dried up. Unfortunately I cant trade any hunts. I cant even really do any hunting. If I'm lucky they will let me kill a cull deer and if im REALLY REALLY LUCKY they mite let me kill a turkey. Pretty much only thing i can shoot is coyotes and shoot pigs for camp meat but i have to ask first and they can not be big bores.
