spent the last 6-7 hours scouting today to no avail. saw 3 ducks and searched the entire lake. If anyone within 2-3 hours of texarkana has ducks and has room for 2 more people we would be very grateful. we've got mudboats, 4 wheelers, dog, decoys, you name it, just no ducks. If anyone could help us out it would be awesome.

Same thing every year. We hear da reports of good duck numbers and how well DU is doing in da breeding grounds. And we see less and less ducks every year. As of last year I no longer sponsor DU. I have given $250 a year to DU my entire adult life, but as of last year I have stopped. I know they do good things but I have not seen them spend any money in the atchafalya basin and dis is americas largest fresh water wetlands area. You would think DU would want to spend a little money to protect it.

DU dont give a d@mn if U, Me or anyone else kills a duck. They are all about making a name for themselves, and making sure their top dogs have the best hunting grounds. Call John Pope (President of DU) and ask him if you can hunt with him this year and let me know what he got to say.... They have made SOME good strives in the protection of wetlands and breading grounds, but so has the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. we have more Refuges in West Tenn than we have public hunting land. And the land we can hunt has so many restrictions and limited access that it makes you wonder if its worth hunting. Its all about Politics. Its not what you know its who you blow... I will get off my soap box now... And as far as this thread, hang in there guys the ducks will come... Maybe...

I'm sorry dis got off subject. But to clear things up, I'm not anti DU they do lots of good things for da ducks. I still will attend banquets, mainly for da entertainment. I just can't justify donating $250 every year that I know will not be spent to improve duck habitat in da area in which I hunt.

yeah it aint DU's fault that all the ducks groceries are 20ft. underwater here so they bypassed us and went further south.

You boys down south are jumpin the gun a little bit.. Our north zone opened 2 weeks ago and our central opens tomorrow.. We got some dux but they really haven't started to move in big numbers yet.. Talked to a friend in NoDak and he said the water is open and there's food everywhere with most crops still standing.. Same for most parts of SoDak.. There's still birds in CA in big numbers..

We got some pretty decent numbers of ducks here in OK for this time of year. Not trying to rub it in, just saying hang in there. If this year keeps up like it has been, it's gonna be a cold winter and LA just might be the place to be.

Youth season starts today in Oklahoma. Taking some kids hunting this morning, I'm setting at the boat ramp waiting on them now. If they can hit em should be a short morning, sure gonna be hard to not shoot with em. Hoping I can shoot at some geese passing by.

Hell their still shooting woodies up here, although after this week they may move out. The next 2 weeks are usually the peak numbers overall, but this years weather has been somewhat odd. Lots of standing crops yet.

Last year we had some issues with some natural flooded timber being drained. Called DU and DW to try and get them to help us get an answer. No help and a we dont give a damn attitude. Needless to say I and my friends quit giving them $$$$$$$ at that very moment. I no longer attend banquets or anything, and I use to give $200 easy a year

Don't we get enough of this crap on the sportsman here in LA. "What does DU do for me???" on and on. The guy asked for a hunting trip. Didn't say anything about DU. There are plenty of people that feel that DU is screwing them, but start a new thread...... oh wait there is one already. Quit Ni66ering up this guys thread. Go bi7ch about DU on there if you haven't already. Sound like a bunch of porch monkeys hollerin at the government.

Oh... If we have some ducks opening weekend i'll have ya'll come down but it is like a 4hr drive from Texarkana.

60 degrees and a south wind in southern Minnesota the last few days. Not exactly migrating weather. Corn harvest is only about 20% complete at best. Saw a few flocks of GWT in South Dakota last week. At least your season is just starting, we are done by the first week of December.
