After hunting this morning i looked at my hour meter and motor had 230hrs on it. Went and ran it again earlier today and it said 27 minutes. Can anyone tell me what happened? |

Your boat is like the delorean. You must have went back in time. Sell your motor now while it only has 27 minutes on it. |

Time for a new one. Battery is going out or the connection to it is coming loose. You can take them apart but they are not meant to. You can cut and pop the case loose at the seam near the back. Once you have the case apart you can carefully dig into the silicone or what ever it is from the back and get to the battery. It is soldered or tacked to the circuit board but I have replaced one before. Try to fix your old one first because if its not working you have nothing to lose. I put the case back together with super glue and put a couple of zip ties on there just in case. |

Seriously though, its probably gone. I decided to go with a different type of tiny tach and has been working fine. Its a trail tech TTO, hooks up exactly the same. But its $35 compared to almost $50 for the other. Same features, hour meter / tach. But the TTO stores the highest rpms reading when the engine is turned off. So if you hit a sand bar or whatever and rev'd it to the moon, you will be able to see what it actually rev'd to. |
