Boat builders flotation "? Any boat builders here heard any thing about a new requirement starting 1 oct that all boats must now have flotation foam. Had a builder tell me this so I wanted to here it from others? |

USCG - Approved floatation has long been required on boats built for sale across State lines on all hulls built for recreational use that are sold to the general public. Gator Tail has somehow sidestepped that rule to get a USCG Exception. Commercial hulls are not normally required to have USCG floation nor are Custom built or Home built hulls. Each State also has addtional rules regarding the issue of titles and rules about the issuance of licenses for use on their waterways. Custom built hulls are more likely to have State imposed regulations than federal ones. You should look into those State regulations. |
