Agree with both posts above. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get the boat to react like a tiller but I wouldn't go back to a tiller setup. Definitely invest in a steering wheel knob, makes turning that much faster. |

Tiller: I like an open layout design for duck blinds, storage or hauling brush wood to set blinds, several guys running around bowfishing, night fishing/camping in boat with cots (two in 54" wide boat), and less weight since I like to use turkey lounger chairs for any riders I have (up to 6-7 in open floor design). I like the tight quick control of the tiller to avoid issues. CC: But it would be nice to further away from that loud ass motor though. Gotta give that the CC. Also, It would be nice to not knock the shit out of your arm when you hit a hidden stump directly on the prop. But that only about once or twice every 30 hours. In general, a center console is great for riding, but not for hunting from boat, bow fishing, fishing, or boat camping. I would like to mount temporary stick steer at the from of the boat to get the best of both worlds. |

CC all the way. Once you learn how to use it there's hardly any down side. It's much more comfortable to make long runs. It's more comfortable to drive in general. It is a little slower to handle in deep mud or if your stuck but you will still be able to get unstuck no less then a tiller handle. Set and forget your throttle and not hold it down the whole time. Your arm is not killing you after long runs. I'm hearing impaired so the noise never bothered me on a tiller handle. Honestly I just like the console more since I make long runs fishing. It just is best for me. It's not for everyone but I love it. |

The best part is being able to be comfortably sipping on a hot cup of coffee while cruising to the duck blind with the console blocking the wind nearly hands free the whole way. |

just converted pro drive to console right up front. it is different but many more good things came from it. one thing is i can see better with the light right up front with me and not looking through peoples heads. took some speed off but i am too old to do things fast anymore. will need a windshield. |

Tear apart the black box and pull all the wires and set up the switches on a different panel. Set up the hydraulic steering lines and ram. I know the biggest issues people have are the throttle and reverse, but i don't know how it works with the new electrically actuated reverse (whether they'll sell you that system or not). |

thanks for the reply. yea the reverse was my concern. I know people have used a foot pedal to take the place of the brake handle when making the switch. |

Yes console is worth 10 times the money if they would charge that!!My first 2 were tillers and damn they sucked compared to the console. |

I had a console PD,,,Pulled console out, went with Tiller for more room in the boat. Then figured out that was a mistake... I now own another console boat. If it was a hunting only boat,,,then tiller would be ok. But,,,these boats are like a "Mulit-tool"...You can use them for everything. |
