Post subject:  Anyone have a boat lift ?

I am looking at having an electric boat lift installed in my back yard this summer. to be able to go fish big lake. Does anyone have one and what did it run you for the total install? I'm looking and getting a metal frame lift not a sling lift. Any input would be helpful. I flat on putting my mud boat on the lift out of duck season and just a small 15/46 during duck season.

Just a couple of ideas.... Instead of building a full blown boathouse with lifts....

You could build a steep 25 to 30 degree - "land trailer" - with poly covered
recycled plastic runners and winch system for under $1000.00.... Have even
seen actual trailers with a winched anchor point to pull entire trailer up on land
with narrow concrete runners from the waters edge up onto land for the tires
to roll over - steered with a handheld trailer dolly - pretty slick - and budget
friendly using the trailer you already own....

My dad built an awesome 20 x 40 - elevated deck - double boat boathouse
with dual heavy duty worm gear driven lifts to raise a 24' pontoon boat on metal
frame and big deep V 22' with walkways and nice features for over $25,000.00
and we did most of the work to keep costs down... Can get pretty pricey...

I really thought about doing that. But my problem is that 8 canals and bayous drain into the bayou I live off on. The bayou is an acre from my back door for a reason. When we get heavy rains the water level rises into my yard a good 30 feet. Does not happen often but it does happen. A guy down the road from me said he had one like what I described but when the bayou would flood the boat would float of the ramp and was small act of God to get back in the ramp. If my marsh was just tidal id do it, but instead it also rises very high 2-3 times a year .

I'd like to built a simple boat lift dug into my bank with an a frame roof that's it.

Could also look into Jet Docks.

I have considered these myself. They can rise and lower with water levels as long as the guide pole is long enough.

I'll look into it. I gotta see how much they hang over on to the water. The bayou in my back yard is not very wide. I don't wanna block the water way. I'll deffinatley look into it though.

Not sure how long your boat is but for an 18' boat the jet dock would be 8'-4" wide. But you also have to consider putting it far enough out into the bayou that it does not hit bottom and cause it to tilt.

How does that cost 75k not criticizing jw why that's so pricey ? called lumnar and got a bid ( called them yesterday morn just called back this after noon ) for a lift for 1400$ and a contractor gave me a bid for 5500 to build the exact same thing except a single boat a frame cover. Jw what the difference is ?

$700 a piling out here
102' lot has many pilings and bulkhead
Barge access only
Permits from the corps of engineers
Each of the lifts are$3500
(But they don't hang on air)
Plus electricity and water
And the boat house.
And at the end of the day( ain't middle of the mall shit)
Sure I could have gotten it done for a little less for an inferior product

Singles out here are 30-40k depending on dock materials
