Post subject:  Paint questions?

This come spring I'm going to be painting the boat because of some bad flaking. My question is what kind of paint do I use? I like the mossy oak bottom land design so I will be getting stencils for that. Do I spray it on bare aluminum or over the old paint? Just wondering what's the best bang for the buck and easiest and best way to get the job done.

Sounds like you need to sand and start over with bare aluminum. I like the duralux paint.

If it's flaking you better take it to bear metal. Prep is key to any paint job.

Also what grit sand paper should I use I feel like 80grit is to much so I'm not sure what's going to get the job done the best

Try 180 then 120 if the 180 isn't doing it.

I used self etching primer and parkers duck boat paint. Tr he only trouble I've had with it sticking is the gunnel caps but you figure they take a lot of abuse, especially with some of my friends
