Installed the MM exhaust today. Pretty easy project. Looks and sounds great. The tig welds are top notch and the mounting bracket is stout as hell. I think this one will last. It didn't come with new flange gaskets but I had a set on hand. Probably could have reused the old ones though. Dan was easy to work with and contact. He has a high quality product in this exhaust. It also seems to be a little more compact than the stock exhaust and tucks in nicely. I like it. ![]() Used my sound meter to get some readings from the stock and MM pipes to see what the difference was. All readings on the trailer and +/- 1db as the meter I have is not digital but accurate. 5' from exhaust tip / straight on stock-78db @ 1000 rpms MM-79db @ 1000 rpms Stock-98db @ 4250 rpms MM-98db @ 4250 rpms 3' from exhaust at seat/pod in boat stock-83db @ 1000 rpms MM-82db @ 1000 rpms stock-100db @ 4250 rpms MM-100db @ 4250 rpms I kinda expected the MM to be a little quieter from inside the boat as the tip shoots straight back but it wasn't the case. However it shows that the MM has basically the same noise level as a stock pipe. And seem much quieter than the Hopkins I had on it. Anything above 85db is considered damaging. |
