Hey guys I need some help with the length of my ProDrive meaning I know it's a long shaft but I'm not sure if it's on my boat right and want to see if someone can help me out

Hell no!!! your skeg should be right about even with the bottom of your boat, or a littl higher.
NOT THAT MUCH!
You, my friend, have a short transom
Motor, on a tall transom boat! Cut the transom down!

Original owner could have cut it down, or it's possible PD had a paperwork mix up, but that's def a short motor.

I would build the motor up instead of cutting the transom down though.

What do you mean build it up

They sell a kit to convert the motor to a tall transom. I would do that in lieu of cutting the transom down.

It's basically a spacer that you weld on to the transom bracket, a longer spline adapter, and a different spacer that goes inside the tower. If you're going to pay someone to fix the transom, it probably won't cost you any more to convert the motor instead and, IMO, you'll be better off in the long run that way.

I converted one of mine. It's a fairly inexpensive and straight forward modification.

Well I been welding for about 10 years now and it won't take but 30 mins to cut it down and be cheaper but that is a good idea to convert it but my boat is getting cut tonight

You should call and get a price on the conversion kit first. It is a much better option man.
