I just bought a larger utility trailer and it came with a trailer jack that has a flat foot. All my other trailers have had a trailer jack with a wheel. I'm toying with the idea of cutting it off and replacing it with a caster wheel like this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/REH-74326?seid=srese2 Is there any advantage to having a fixed foot over a wheel?? I'm sure they have a higher capacity rating (this one is rated to 2,000lbs), but that far exceeds my max tongue weight by a long shot. |

You could get a caster with a 4 bolt flange for a mount. That way, all your have to do is drill some holes and bolt it on, if you wanted to remove it, unbolt it. Simple. |

The foot is bc a heavy trailer will sink that skinny little wheel into soft ground, especially when loaded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you repace it with a roller it will take longer for you to realize you have not lifted it when you take off. |

The flat foot slides pretty easy if it's not loaded too heavy on the tongue. Try it before you modify it. |
