Post subject:  Boat trailer help

Well I got rear ended pulling my boat a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully hardly any damage to boat/trailer. Had to get my winch post welded back on which was about the extent of it all. Finally getting around to setting it up how it was and now there is about a 2in gap between the front bunk board and my hull. I don't believe the trailer is bent or twisted somehow but something had to change. Should I just add to the front bunk board so it'll help support the hull ? Or maybe lower my back bunks and get them even with the front ? Not familiar with adjusting the how the boat rides on the trailer ImageUploadedByTapatalk1428604616.594452.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1428604623.229406.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1428604629.345422.jpg

Adjust the back bunks down as far as you can that should let the front touch the front board. Lowering your bunks also get the boat lower on the trailer helping you launch in shallower water.

If you are sure the trailer isn't bent, then maybe the boat is bent.

You can certainly readjust the trailer, but if it were me, I'd want to know why first.

Something stinks on this one. Something had to move if it was touching before the accident. I would try real hard to figure out what is up before fixing it.

Almost looks like the winch post isn't far enough forward.

Take more pics. I have an idea but need to see about 5 pictures of how the boat sits on the trailer.

The winch post doesn't go much more forward. I put it back where it was before.
I'll have to get more pics sunday or Monday.

The second picture looks like the tail of trailer is bent down to me which would explain why the front of the boat is off the bunk. Run a string down the frame and see if it is straight.

It does look like the rear behind the axle is bent down some

Just adjust the bunks and roll with it. B

If you got rear ended then their insurance should cover your damages. Of course, that is assuming they had insurance
