I have a 12' alweld commercial boat I am looking to build a mud motor. I wanna be able to put 3 ppl and gear MAX. It's a 44" wide. 16" transom. Right now I am thinking 11hp predator w electric start. I don't need to go fast maybe 12-18mph. Just need to be able to get anywhere. Any suggestions???

Just a suggestion, 3 people and gear in a 12' boat along with the weight of a mud motor which is heavy as shit to start with = Submarine. That's a lot of weight for a 12 footer and I doubt that an 11 will even get on step. Just my opinion though. I would get a 14' hull to haul those weights.
