 Making Dry Storage?
Last week I removed the foam from my 2 back pods and installed a Marpaq switch panel, bilge, running lights, and floor lights. I want to remove all the gear I have under my front deck and put it in the 2 pods in the back and move the gas tank to underneath the front deck. I'm planning on putting in false bottoms in the two pods and turning them into dry storage, but I'm not sure how to build the hatches/doors for the dry storage boxes to keep them from leaking water into the dry storage boxes. If anyone has done this before feel free to post up some pics.

 Re: Making Dry Storage?
Use 1x1 angle welded together facing upwards and out for the frame. Then get a cover broke and welded to fit over it.

 Re: Making Dry Storage?
It's been a while since anyone replied on this. Did you figure out a hatch yet? I did something similar, but in the middle seat of my 1648 jon boat. I cut two access holes in the top, removed the floatation in each hole, then repurposed two boat hatches i had laying around. I used the hatches as a template for each hole. A good dose of silicone under the lips and pop riveted into place. Keep my TM battery, anchor and life jackets up there. They dont leak a drop.
If you haven't done anything yet, I would suggest looking online for replacement hatches. Why reinvent the wheel?
