Well my excitement is through the roof right now. I was out scouting yesterday and found a lot of birds with bands and neck collars. They must have just captured some birds here somewhere in WI (not saying where) but my motivation to bag one of these bird is super high.it would be awesome to get a collar and i wish you all best of luck this season. |

3 weeks away. Birds have a lot of time to move and they will. Went and hung trail cams yesterday and adress stand locations also payed attention to bird movements. Im on teal but the geese arent around in big numbers yet like they will be come closer to september. Weather plays a big role storms and rain a cool night or 2. Not enough rain and a small roost pond starts to dry up and geese leave the area ect. Im excited to see the amount of birds using a pond had mallards lot of teal 2 dz pelicans egrets sandhills all jampacked in a less than 1 acre pond. Im guessing the geese might use it too. I dont put much stake in what is seen until a few days before the season. Good Luck its definetly something to look forward too. |

Lol. It's just an old cattle pond at the bottom of a farm field. It gets more run off than anything else. Less than 5 miles away is the states largest marsh so that kind of helps. It's like a little pit stop after feeding in the cut fields all morning. |

Those burger king birds get really smart really quick. If you got a line on some jewelry hit them hard the first day and then work the fringes. Over the years I would find a flock that had been relocated along with some jewelry. Come opening day they would be hit or miss. I have hit them hard a few times as my lanyard proves that. I have set up on the X only to have some jackwagon sky blast them along the way and put them in survival mode. Good luck and good hunting. I remember how excited I got thinking about getting five bands in one day during the Sept season. |
