Completely disassembled the output shaft and bearings ect on my Beavertail 35hp surface drive and there was water in the belt housing due to a shotty gasket... would it be better to seal it with RTV instead of ordering another factory gasket which failed after 3 years? Also, can i just take the bearings in to NAPA or a similar place and have them get replacement bearings or should I just order everything from Beavertail? They're prices are pretty rediculous on stock parts. Oh, and I thought it was funny how the clutch has "Gator Tail" stamped on it. |

You should be able to take the bearings to one of the auto parts places or a milwright shop and have them matched up. Cant say about the gasket. Is it an o-ring like on the gatortails or is it a true gasket? |

Buy some gasket material and cut your own? And use permatex to get a better seal. |

Permartex is great stuff. Chemical resistant flexible and tough. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |
