Post subject:  Semi Auto .410 for sale?

My dad is getting older and is afraid to shoot anything other than a .410 due to neck surgery. It's sad because over the last 8 years I've seen him shoot his 1100 12ga then I got him a 20 ga and now he will only shoot a .410. He had major neck surgery and had stints put in a few years ago and has trouble lifting anything heavy. I can see that he wants to hunt so bad but is afraid of the recoil due to surgery. I bought him a bolt action .410 and took him hunting for the first time in 5 years last year. He was like a kid on chriatmas. Well the bolt action is good, but not when mobility isn't where it used to be and you're shooting ducks. I would like to fiND a semi auto. 410 at a reasonable price if that's even possible so that my dad can enjoy hunting again. It's the least I can do to give back the passion he has given me. We've created alot of memories and I cherish anytime I get to take my dad hunting. This was from last year. He couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear. If anybody knows of one or has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I would get him a semi auto 28ga over the 410. Maybe an 1/8 oz more shot but recoil would be less than the 410 bolt he used last year. I know Beretta makes a 28 ga and I'm sure a few other manufacturers do also

Not sure what your budget is, but there are a couple of the Saiga's on gunbroker.com

There are kind of assault shotgun looking (that is what Saiga makes), but should still do the trick.

I would consider the 28 or a .410 over and under as well.

Hard to find a semi auto .410 at a decent price. (even the 28's are a little pricey)

Good luck!

Beretta makes several models of semi auto In 28ga. I'd look into that. The a400 comes in 28ga as well

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Wad check out Whitaker guns in West Louisville, Ky. They are a huge gun dealer with a 10,000 gun inventory. I have seen several Rem 1100 .410 in their used gun rack. I shot a Winchester model 42 410 for years on ducks and geese. Its a old Winchester pump shotgun that is a scaled down Model 12. I have a good resource for 410 shotguns and will see if I can find one for you.

i was just at Whitakers a couple days ago and did not see this post until I got home.I would have looked and asked for you. I'm on the prowl for another Remington 541. My dad bought a Kel tec 22 magnum handgun that has 30 round magazines while there. If anyone reading this is looking for them they had many. Black and OD.

I had major neck surgery several years ago. I now shoot an o/u 28 gauge. Love it and barely feel the recoil.
