I was reading the other thread and it got me thinking,, Maybe we can help each other out by saving a couple bucks by finding the best insurance for the best price.

If you are willing please share

*who you get your mud boat insurance through
*the insured value of your rig
*does it cover the trailer
*how much you pay for your premiums

Thanks so much!

I just got a quote from Progressive on my rig

106 / year
25K Liability per person 65K per incident. (my state minimums)
250 deductible
Coverage @ 10,000 includes boat, motor and trailer
medical is 2,500 per person per incident.

The reason it was so cheap was because I declined the "propulsion plus" coverage that covers fixing of the lower unit of the outboard if it goes out and I declined "tow service" coverage also. I doubt they would cover a mud motor's lower unit anyway.

They also stated that if I cancelled within the first year they have a 90/10 return as part of the deposit. since we are covered with snow 5 months out of the year and I only use the boat for duck hunting for 2 months or so that might not be a bad deal.
