I've got a 2010 gator trax boat and noticed yesterday that it was leaking water inside. The weld on the bottom of the transom motor plate is cracked all the way across. I sent them pictures and they told me because it's a 2010 and I'm the second owner even though I bought it in 2011 that they won't cover it. To me this is a bad weld or something. It's not about money to me it's about them standing behind their product. Has anybody else had one break here

It would take less than an hour of their time to grind and reweld that spot and save a customer... Pretty messed up of them honestly.

That's what I'm saying. He told me I could drive 5 hours there and pay $50 and they would fix it.

And they pride themselves on a "lifetime warranty"

Hmm sounds like a crock of shit to me! I had a little trouble with their customer service while ordering my boat last year before season! It was close to piss poor! I'll probably be in a different brand boat next time! When I had my first gator Trax I talked with them for questions and everything was pretty but last year for the new was pretty bad! That's some terrible customer service on your part! Hope you get it worked out!

Your best bet is to find someone local to fix it for you. It is very poor customer service on their part and I would tell anyone that I saw that was looking at their boats how they treated you.

I am pulling the motor off tonight and taking it somewhere tomorrow to get welded. I won't be buying another boat from them. The back of boat is bent right at the weld also. Almost like it's not thick enough metal on transom . I've never backed into anything with it just normal use for what it's supposed to be made for

Flint it's not about the money. But I would like to not have to spend money out of my pocket for a weld fail on their part. Atleast cover the cost of how much it's going to cost me. They put the orignail owner as just a escape route so they have to fix most boats.

So the previous owner did something 4 years ago and it just now shows up and breaks. No way in hell

He's talking years of undue abuse, not one event that is now showing itself.

Post subject:  Re: Gator trax boat cracked on transom weld

As stated already, it's a surface drive. These boats take much more abuse than a normal aluminum boat. I have a gator trax with seven seasons on it. I have needed a little welding done from time to time. I live eight hours away from Springfield Louisiana now. I took the boat and had it welded and rolled out. Gator trax has always been helpful with any questions or issues that I have had. Sorry you feel like you were treated unfairly. Hope you got everything taken care of and made it out for your hunt.
I now have a new custom boat but do not have anything negative to say about gator trax or their customer service. There are many options out there if you're not happy with them but bashing them on an Internet forum will only make you look bad. They will sell boats next year either way.

Kent and the people at Gator Trax go the extra mile in customer service. I know if I had a problem they would stand behind it...my boat is new and the warranty is in full force. For $50 bucks I would eat it and not even mention it. I would treat it as the price for beating my boat up in the swamp. If the transom fell off, I would give Kent a call and told him to expect it soon.
$50...pay to play.
Heck, with boats, sometimes it's more like $500 pay to play.
