Hey. I've been a lurker but this is my first post. For any of you who have a Vanguard 37 EFI, what kind of RPMs are you getting? I'm under the impression the rev limiter is at 4750. Is that correct? I know that all the different LUs and props will change final RPMs but I'm curious. I've got a mud buddy HD with a big blade. Maybe the Nat Gear paint is affecting RPM's. Since I'm not real clear where the rev limiter is, I try not to find it. I can get 4400 RPMs if things are just right. I don't stay there because floating the valves doesn't make a good day. Is a stock motor supposed to turn that fast? |

I have a 37 efi on a GT and I turn 4500 every time I use it I make some long runs at high rpms no problems. As far as the Rev limit 4750 sounds about right. |

Best way to check it is in neutral wide open. Should be 4700. For comparison I am running a gtr with 11p 3 blade at 42-4300. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I'd heard that stock carbed engines "should run about 38-3900 in the water." I kinda baby my stuff, so leaning on the Rev limiter makes me a little nauseous. Those logs and stuff do the same thing but, hey, that's why I got it! For comparison's sake, what does a stock 35 turn? |

Mine turns 4000-4050 with a stock GD 3 blade prop. I've hit the limited getting out of a stuck before, you can hear the valves float but I don't think it's a huge issue unless you're just sitting on the limited for an extended period of time. |

No shit. I didn't. Now I do. This is for the factory EFI?? I think I'll wait for my warranty to expire so that the kinks can be worked out. |

I know more power is always welcome. But I am more than pleased thus far with my 37 in stock form. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

I've been pleased, too. But this is my first surface drive so I have nothing to compare it to. Yesterday was my first real loaded scenario. It did fine...great even. |

When my 37 was stock with gt 2 blade, I would get 4300, i recently upgraded to cam and heads with bps tune, and can easily hit the govener at 4750. I will be posting a full review in a few weeks comparing the stock and modded 37, I still and testing with differnt loads.. |
