My hunting territory is overrun with logs and new mud bars since the Spring floods. I can"t handle the stress of running my catfish boat in the dark through these mine fields anymore. I want to build my own motor; but I'm not interested in designing it. Any advise on plans would be greatly appreciated. I have decided I want a horizontal short shaft. I know a long shaft would be faster and cheaper to build but I want to keep as short as possible. I have the tools and equipment to do whatever is necessary. Not interested in a kit.
