ok so my gf's dad let me borrow his mud rig bc he cant use it/hasnt used it in 2 years. the hull is a go devil 18x54 maybe im not exactly sure of the width. i looked at the bottom of it before i brought it home and noticed it had a few dents and scratches in it. i was cleaning all the stuff out of the inside of the boat today and noticed that were i stand to drive in the middle of the back it kinda humped up a little. didnt think much of it at first as the boat isnt brand new. the more i thought ab it the more it worried me so i looked on the bottom to find a pretty significant dent on the bottom. i have hit my far share of stumps in this thing already (only one or two that i was unaware of and going full speed) but i was told by that man that it would be "very hard for me to put a hole in the bottom of it" i asked that question numerous times and he assured me it would be near impossible. i know it has the .125 thickness but just how much abuse can these things take? since it is not mine i by no means go off into places i dont feel comfortable going. im just a little concerned bc if something happened to this mans boat it most certainly means death for me. whats the worst thing anyones ran over with there mud boat |

I ran dead into a cypress knee in a mudflat and it stopped dead in my tracks. I needed a seat belt. lol. Put a good dent in the front but did not break a weld or affect its seaworthiness in any way. Only one ive seen a whole in was a friend was doing about thirty on a flat in a 16 x 54 gd and hit a cypress knee. it put a good dent in it and pulled a weld apart but it was above the water line and he ran it for another year like that. |

Fella that post here spyderbeaver hit a sunken skiff that's upside down. They ran into the rudder and wheel at WOT,came to a quick stop with a gash in the hull a couple inches long. No one was hurt but the pucker factor was high. |

I must admit Jim, that was one of the dumbist things I have done in that boat. Dont get me wrong, it was awsome and flat out funny to see that boat fly. But I dont think I will ever do that again. Who am I jokin with, I WILL find a bigger one and I WILL atempt to get more air. That was one of the funnest days of our hunting season. tom |

You may never put a hole in it but the chances of adding to the hooks (dents) in the bottom is a very good. Why I would borrow anyones boat cause something would get forked up pretty quick with my luck. |
